Old WRX Vs. New WRX - What has changed in 20 Years?

What is the best generation of Subaru WRX?  In our last Podcast episode, we had a good discussion about the VB WRX, and had some ideas about why it wasn't selling that well.

We all also had some thoughts about what the best generation of WRX was, and in the comments, it was clear that you all lean very strongly towards the GC (first generation from 1992 - 2001) and the GD (Second generation from 2002 - 2007) of WRX as being the best.

So this got us to thinking, how different are these cars?

What has changed in the last 20 years?

Fortunately, we had examples of each that we could take out and drive back to back to find out.
