Why would you run an AOS and a Catch-Can?

Our Question of the Week this week is why would you run an Air Oil Separator and a Catch can?  Or more specifically, why would you vent an Air Oil Separator into a Catch Can?

Our viewer Kevin who asked this question specifically references seeing more mention of this is a motorsports oriented Facebook group, Track Subies.

For motorsports applications, or high power applications there can be a good reason to have a catch-can in place for the AOS vent, and there could even be a good reason to run 2 Air Oil Separators in fact.
