Why this could be Subaru's biggest step forward in 20 years
The biggest Subaru related news to come out of the Tokyo Auto Salon was the 3.0 liter Twin Turbo that will now be run in the GT300 BRZ.
This engine has received a lot of attention because this engine is nothing like Subaru has ever built before.
This inspired us to look back at the history of the GT300 BRZ, and the developments that Subaru and R&D Sport have made to that chassis in the years of running it, and in doing so, it helped us to realize how seismic a change this is for Subaru.
This engine could be a key indicator of the direction that Subaru is going in the future. And honestly, it should be.
Could this engine end up in a production car? Could there be a GT3 Subaru in the future?
Only time will tell.
