What cars and Trucks is the Cobb Accessport Available for?
When Cobb Tuning first developed the Accessport as a way to tune a car’s ECU, they were only available for Turbocharged Subaru models. But as time went on, they realized that the method that they had developed to tune Subaru’s could be used to tune a number of other cars too.
What is worth mentioning here is that on every car that has an Accessport available, it works in the same way. The Cobb Accessport connects to the car’s ECU, and re-programs it with new parameters so that the ECU has its full functionality (or more) as the car did with the factory ROM on the ECU. This is not just a device that interrupts sensor input as it is heading to the ECU and adjusts them. It is a way for you to fully re-program your ECU with one of Cobb’s Maps, or it is a way for a Cobb Pro Tuner to have full access to your car’s ECU to re-program it.

This is important for two reasons. The first is that because the Cobb Accessport (or a Cobb Protuner using the Accessport) has the ability to fully re-program your car’s ECU, this method of tuning has far greater capability than a method that just interrupts and modifies sensor input. For example, this is what allows Cobb to add the functionality (with the proper supporting parts) to add Flex Fuel to Subaru’s that didn’t come with it from the factory. The second is that because the Accessport is able to adjust any and all of the parameters in your ECU, the drivability of a Cobb Tuning map, or by a map created by your Cobb Protuner should be just as good as it is with the factory ROM, and that is not always the case with an interrupt system.
In short, this is our preferred way to re-flash and tune any ECU.
