Does the 2026 Solterra XT change Subaru's Performance Game?
Subaru has one updated EV, and 2 new EV models slated for 2026. The first one that we are seeing testing of is the 2026 Solterra and the new trim which is the Solterra XT.
For 2026, Subaru is giving the Solterra XT more power 338 hp at a starting price of $42,895.
That is supposed to be good for a 0 - 60 time just under 5 seconds, but what if Subaru is under-rating the Solterra?
From Car and Driver's test, they clocked the Solterra XT with a 4.3 second 0 - 60 time making it the fastest Subaru they have tested, replacing the S209...
To complicate matters more, the Solterra has X-Mode making it actually pretty good off-road as well.
And we haven't seen the Subaru Trailseeker yet which should offer even more performance than the Solterra XT...
Putting this all this together, what does this mean for the 2026 WRX, and the future STI that Subaru is likely cooking up. Does the performance that the Subaru EV's offer change the game for the WRX and STI?
Thanks for watching and Stay Tuned!
