Subaru requires the Timing Belt to be replaced at 105,000 miles. We recommend replacing the timing belt at or around 90,000 miles because when this is done, it allows the mechanic to inspect many different critical engine components including the oil pump and water pump, and if there are any issues, those can be delt with before the problems become more severe.
Professional installation is very strongly recommended.
