STI Limited Black HVAC Knob Centers (05-07 WRX/STI)

These knobs came originally on the 2007 STi Limited, which had black center console pieces as opposed to the silver pieces which came in any of the other models. These are similar to the JDM s204 pieces many people source, with the only difference being that the temperature dial on these is in Farenheit as opposed to in Celcius on the JDM cars.

Many people have been painting their easily scratched silver plastic center console pieces with Plasti-dip or other products. This comes out looking great, but the HVAC dial center pieces are back-lit and printed with lettering for what each knob does. This forces people to either live with silver HVAC knob centers, or purchase cheap looking black decal overlays which have clear sections for the OEM lettering and LEDs, leaving a visible amount of silver around any print.

Don't settle for a cheap looking solution. These knobs are made by Subaru, and feature a black rubberized texture coating and clear white lettering. They also allow you to retain the LED backlighting of your stock silver centers.

These are not difficult to install, requiring nothing more than a standard phillips head screwdriver and a small flathead. However, the HVAC control box must be removed from the back of the radio surround panel and the dial rings gently popped off, freeing the stock center pieces. Remove them (remember which goes where!) and drop in your new black centers. Reassemble in reverse order. If you have any problems, any good Subaru dealership should be able to handle the installation.
